FIELD DAY FRIENDS

Mrs. Beagles and I have been friends ever since Mrs. Beagles got hurt jumping on a trampoline.
That was twenty years ago. I became her long term sub after her injury and the next year I was hired full time at Smithfield Elementary. Mrs. Beagles' old trampoline knee injury still hurts every once in awhile and I am still there to help her. This is our last Field Day together. Mrs. Beagles will retire this year. I will miss my good friend, Mrs. Beagles!

National Honor Society Induction 4-2-12

Congratulations to Parker Chapman who was inducted into the National Honor Society last night. I was thrilled to see that many of my past students were also honored last night. Having taught half of the scholars in this year's group was a thrill for me! I am so proud of all the students who earned this honor through their hard work, good behavior and work habits.

Valentine Party

Our class will celebrate Valentine's Day with a small teacher directed party on Feb. 14th. The party will be from 2:45-3:20. If a student wants to pass out Valentine cards they need to bring one for each child in the class. No special gifts can be given to friends at school. Students can volunteer to bring cupcakes, cookies or juice boxes for the party. Small plates and napkins are also needed for the party.
Remember, no special gifts can be passed out at school. If passing out anything for Valentine's Day students must have enough for everyone in the class to aviod hurting anyone's feelings.

Field Trip to Haltom High School
